"Tube closures must be coordinated." Pope2.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 24th Apr 2007 Commenting on the Mayor of London's announcement that there is going to be major disruption for Londoners - particularly at weekends and evenings - for the majority of 2007 in a bid to improve the Tube, Geoff Pope AM, the Liberal Democrat Chair of the London Assembly Transport Committee, said: "Londoners are all too familiar with 'no-go zones' at weekends - areas devoid of any Tube or rail services because of engineering works. It is critical that any forthcoming line closures are coordinated with other transport providers, such as Network Rail, so that people are not further inconvenienced. I do hope that today's announcement will not be a case of much pain for little gain."
