Liberal Democrats Respond to the Mayor's London Plan Review1.39.12pm GMT Mon 20th Mar 2006 In preparation for his 2008 review of the London Plan, the Mayor published a 'Statement of Intent' setting out the key policy areas that he would update in his spatial strategy for London up to 2025/26. Ten policy areas were identified for review: climate change, London as a world city, London's economy, housing, social exclusion, transport, London's geography, London's suburbs, liveability and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Liberal Democrat Assembly Members responded to the Mayor's consultation in February. We stressed the need for the plan to ensure greater equity between its objectives, ensuring that London works towards sustainability as well as prosperity. The Mayor is due to consult with the Assembly on changes to the London Plan later this spring. A full public consultation on revisions to the London Plan will be held in the autumn.
