HEATHROW TERMINAL SIX PROPOSALS SHOULD BE TERMINATED

1.14.37pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 6th Jun 2005

Commenting on the plans unveiled today for a sixth Heathrow terminal, London Assembly Liberal Democrat transport spokesperson, Geoff Pope said:-

"It is simply staggering that before even the despised Terminal 5 building has been built BAA have got the nerve to turn round to West London residents and say they need a sixth.

"Every time they expand claim 'that's it - no more'. Plans for a sixth Terminal will be met with even more opposition than those that greeted a fifth. The government should step in now and tell BAA that the Terminal six proposals must be terminated."
