'Summit Meeting' over Holloway Bus Garage12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Sun 2nd Jun 2002 Following a rising tide of complaints from residents close to the Upper Holloway bus garage near Archway, Lynne Featherstone, GLA Liberal Democrat transport spokesperson, has won the Mayor of London's agreement to a top-level meeting over safety and health issues at the garage. Ms Featherstone will meet Mayor Ken Livingstone and London Buses boss Peter Hendy to talk through how residents' concerns can be solved. Ms Featherstone commented: "I have met residents who live opposite to the bus garage who claim there are very real safety and environmental health problems associated with the operation there. We shall be carrying out our own investigations into what is going on." "The Mayor gave a very positive response at Question Time in the London Assembly and I look forward to putting the residents' concerns to him." Ms Featherstone is also seeking an early meeting with Declan O'Farrell, Chief Executive of Metroline plc who own the Holloway bus garage.
